Gibbs on Briscoe: 'Right now he can get anything he wants'
Chase Briscoe is headed to the NASCAR Cup Series championship race for the first time in his career and in his first season with Joe Gibbs Racing.
Briscoe, 30, entered the year acknowledging and embracing that driving the No. 19 Toyota was the best opportunity he’s had at the Cup Series level, and if it doesn’t work, he’ll likely never get another shot. In fact, he’s even revealed in the past that he races better with his back against the wall, and given his path to NASCAR, still feels like he’s auditioning every week.
Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway was his third victory of the season. Now he’s a championship contender.
