Ferrucci withdraws from Toronto after warm-up crash

A hard crash during morning warm-up for Santino Ferrucci has left the No. 14 AJ Foyt Racing Chevy with significant damage to repair, its driver with an injured had, and led team president Larry Foyt to withdraw the car from today’s Honda Indy Toronto race.

“Just an unfortunate incident this morning in final warm-up here right before the race,” Foyt said. “So we made a tough decision because the damage is pretty extensive, and we just decided as a team to start getting ready for Laguna, and not try to rush something on the track today. Santino banged up his hand a little bit, so I'd rather have him rest and get ready for Laguna. So that's our decision, but we'll be back strong next week.”

Ferrucci entered Toronto holding 10th in the Drivers' championship and qualified 23rd for the 90-lap race.
