Crafton to retire from full-time NASCAR Truck racing at season's end

Matt Crafton, the three-time Craftsman Truck Series champion with ThorSport Racing, will end his full-time driving career with the conclusion of the 2025 season.

Ty Majeski will take over the No. 88 seat beginning next season. Majeski is the reigning series champion for ThorSport Racing, and currently pilots the organization’s No. 98 Ford entry.

Crafton has been a staple in the Truck Series since 2001, and has spent all but one season driving for owner Duke Thorson. The outlier was the 2004 season with Kevin Harvick’s operation.

The most successful seasons of Crafton’s career came during the 2013-2019 stint when he won his three championships (2013, ’14, ’19). He became the first, and thus far only, driver to win back-to-championships in 2013 and ’14. During that time, Crafton also won 12 races. Crafton claimed the 2019 championship without winning a race. 

Crafton, however, has been winless since 2020. He last made the Championship 4 in the series in 2021. In all, he’s won 15 races in his 585 starts to date.

ThorSport Racing fields five trucks in the Craftsman Truck Series for Crafton, Majeski, Ben Rhodes, Jake Garcia, and the No. 66 for Luke Fenhaus and other drivers.
